DOS Development Corporation connects small business buyers and sellers in our community. We are here to help attract investment and support workforce development throughout the District of Sicamous.

Our mandate

The District of Sicamous Development Corporation’s mandate is to help advance the District of Sicamous’ financial, social, business and community goals through the development of the District’s surplus land holdings, strategic acquisition of properties for redevelopment, and the acquisition of income generating properties.

The District of Sicamous Development Corporation undertakes:
› Increasing the capacity of economic development opportunities for Sicamous and area.
› Acting as official entity for all economic development functions for the District.
› Real estate development projects on District-owned sites which help achieve the District of Sicamous objectives.
› Acting as a catalyst and facilitator to accelerate beneficial development throughout the District.
› Partners with the private sector on real estate development projects.
› Real estate consulting advice to help the District achieve its vision for the various neighborhoods throughout the District.

Community profile

Conveniently located at the intersection of two major highway routes, the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 97A, Sicamous connects travelers from the Lower Mainland and neighbouring Alberta to the sought-after destinations of the Shuswap and Okanagan.

Sicamous offers a wide range of attractions and recreational opportunities based on proximity to both Shuswap and Mara lakes, and the surrounding wilderness terrain. A high proportion of tourism has supported the evolution of a diverse service industry with several restaurants, cafes and other related operations. Sicamous is also ideally situated with short commute times to Salmon Arm, Revelstoke and the Okanagan Valley, allowing easy access to a larger breadth of recreation and cultural activities and amenities.
